The Omer is Over and NOW WHAT?
THE PSALMS!!
After the Omer ends, I often find myself a bit bereft. The Omer is such a powerful teacher and guide. Its journey brings so much structure and intention to my days. Now what will help hold and guide me? Not surprisingly I turn to Psalms; tending the fire of awareness, presence and practice with these ancient songs.
This year, in celebration of my new book, we are offering something new -- a guide to explore the the psalms, on your own or with a hevruta (partner) through the summer months:
A Journey of the Psalms from Ashrei to Halleluyah
The Book of Psalms opens with the call ashrei, not an easy word to translate. It can be rendered as happy, blessed, content, praiseworthy, fulfilled.
The Book of Psalms closes with the call hallelu-yah, praise Yah, the Infinite Unfolding of All Life.
In between these two calls, the Psalms cry out in joy and weep in sorrow. They tremble with fear and sing in gratitude. They give voice to the depths and expanse of human experience.
How do the Psalms take us on a journey from Ashrei to Halleluyah?
How do they guide us through the heartbreak and wonders of life?
This is will be our quest and hopefully what we discover will lift, guide and inspire us.
On Wednesday night, May 27, 7:30-8:30PM ET
I will share stories and teachings to introduce this exploration.
Wednesday night, June 3, 7:30-8:30PM ET
We will continue to explore ways to engage with the Psalms and there will be an opportunity for small group discussion in break out rooms.
(These 2 sessions will be recorded)
Over the course of these two weeks I will make available a study guide to help focus the summer explorations.
We will meet again on Wednesday, Sept 9, to share our discoveries.
This study can be done on your own, with a partner or in small groups.

Join Rabbi Yael for an evening to explore her new book Psalms: Ancient Songs for These Times
Rabbi Yael will share stories and teachings and discuss ways to use the book as a guide for practice by oneself and also with a hevruta partner.
We will also share songs and reflections.
