What to Expect

We will take easy to moderate hikes along canyon streams and sit in silence among rocks, trees and sky. There will be time for personal meditation, exploration and rest. For those who wish, there also will be time for more challenging hikes.

On Erev Shavuot we will welcome the festival with meditation, prayer, teachings and song. Rising before dawn, we will make a short climb to a red rock mesa where we will prepare individually and together to listen to the chanting of the Ten Utterances.

To help calm the mind and listen into the heart of the mystery, much of the retreat will be in silence. In addition to meditation and prayer, our practices will include gentle yoga-based body prayer, a mindfulness labyrinth walk and opportunities for deep listening and shared reflections.  Everyone is welcome.

Mindfulness experience and comfort with silence is helpful. There is nothing like an A Way In Shavuot retreat, an opportunity to be in community celebrating sacred time and sacred place.

We hope you will join us for this 12th and final retreat at Ghost Ranch.
