Omer Week 5: Hod

Hod calls,
            Be present,
            Be patient,
            Be still.

Sit and be with what is.

Even as the mind races,
Even as thoughts arise
Demanding that things be different.

Be with what is.

Take a receptive posture,
Wait. See. Notice.
Awareness brings its own transformation.

And when the present moment
Is filled with anguish,
When the heart weeps,
And the soul quakes,
Hod offers refuge
And the solace of sacred companionship.

Hiney makom iti, the Infinite Presence calls. Shemot 33:21
I am here with you in this place.
I am here with you in this moment.
I am right by your side.
Wherever you are there I am.
There is always a place for you with me.

Blessed are those who know that in each moment
They dwell at home in the Divine
Their very being offers praise, Selah

Psalm 84:5

Meditation for Week of Hod

We take our seats and let the attention rest on the breath. After a few moments, we invite ourselves to open to the presence of the Divine, right here with us. With gentle attention we hear/imagine/feel the Divine saying to us Hineni, here I am.
With each breath, we hear the Divine call, Hineni, here I am, with you.
Hineni, here I am, within you.
Over and over, we hear the Divine Presence say, Hineni, I am here, and notice the vibration of this call as it travels through the body on the breath.

Each time we notice the mind has wandered away from the moment, we return to the sensations of the breath and the Divine, calling to us with love and care,
Hineni, I am here.

Questions for Reflection

What happens in my body and mind when I stop, pause, allow stillness?
Where do I find solace?
What do I feel grateful for in this moment?
