The Infinite Within
After appearing in thunder,
in lightening,
in fire and smoke at Mt. Sinai
the Infinite calls to us
with such intimacy:
Make for me a holy place that I may dwell within you
Make for me a holy place that I may dwell among you.
Exodus 25:8
Fashion your lives so I can come through you into the world.
Create a place for me
by honoring your gifts and sharing them
with a generous and loving heart.
So often we dismiss what we have to offer,
determining our gifts are nothing special,
not worthy,
certainly not enough.
The Infinite calls:
Don’t hide behind the thoughts that belittle your offerings.
Don’t get caught up in the tangled mess of comparative mind.
Don’t succumb to the onslaught of news designed to make you believe
that nothing you do matters.
You are needed. You are necessary.
And who you are is enough.
Offer your kindness, your laughter, your sorrows, your tears.
Offer your music, your poetry.
Offer your willingness to listen.
Offer your stories, your strengths,
your wonder, your audacity, your hopes.
I need you, the Infinite calls.
Make a home for me through generosity and love
and together we will come into the world and shine.
