Draw Close

This week we begin Vayikra, the third book of the Torah,
enter the month of Nisan
and celebrate the Spring Equinox. 

As tiny buds are beginning to emerge,
and purple crocuses are breaking through hard ground,
the Infinite Mystery calls to us:
Draw close.

Draw close to the sacred,
Draw close to the source,
Draw close to the Divine Presence.

Draw close by making your offerings:
         Give thanks.
         Act generously.
         Be true to your word.
         Admit wrong doings.
         Strive for fairness.
         Forgive.
         Embody shalom.
        
During these days of great turmoil and pain,
we might feel the inclination to step back,
to hide away --
and the same force calling tiny green shoots to defy gravity
and break through frozen earth,
is calling to us.

Rise. Emerge. Draw Close.
Through your love, care and beauty
the sacred shines.
