There is a Place

In this week’s Torah portion, Ki Tisa, the Divine Mystery calls:
Hiney makom iti - There is a place for you with me.
Exodus 33:21

In the midst of fear,
in the swell of vengeance and rage,
even in the shattering of the sacred,
there is a place for you with me.

I am standing right beside you.
Listen, this is my name:

All Being, all being, compassion and graciousness,
patience, forbearance, abounding love and truth.
Extending generosity through time and space,
lifting up guilt and despair from the depths of misdeeds,
and making you free.

Exodus 34: 5-7

Let us remember that we are not alone.
We are here in the infinite web,
with each other and all beings,
and with a Presence that is beyond anything we can know
and also right by our side.

May the mystery of Divine compassion, graciousness,
patience and love hold us.
May it give us strength,
nourish our faith
and guide the words of our mouths
and the work of our hands.

With love and prayers for peace,
Rabbi Yael
