As we come to this last week of the Omer, we remind ourselves that Divinity exists within all creatures, within all creation. And the Infinite seeks to come into the world through us.

This sixth week of the Omer, Yesod, calls us to align with the roots of our souls. Yesod directs our attention to our foundations and our truths.

What is it that calls us forward,

To lift our eyes

And see that everything is possible?

I saw a male owl in the woods this morning sitting silently on a small tree branch.  Someone told those of us gathered that he was guarding the nest of his mate who was on a tree close by. 

What a wonderful gift to receive on this twelfth day of the Omer—Hod sh’b Gevurah—glory within strength: the vulnerable nest; the strong trees; the vigilant owl.

We are all called into holy service.
Keep the fires burning.

The work of the Mishkan, the sacred dwelling, is complete.

The weeks’ Torah portion, Mishpatim, asks;

Who and what do we serve?

What do we raise up as having ultimate value?

What are the laws and rules that govern and guide our actions?

This week’s Torah portion, Yitro, brings forth the revelation at Sinai. Here is an interpretive translation of the Ten Utterances from Rabbi Yael Levy.

A new leader is arising.

And with the strength of all those who came before,

And with a promise to all those who will come in our wake,

We are rising as well.
